Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has announced that China will convene a Global Leaders’ Meeting on Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment in Beijing in the latter half of this year. Thirty years ago, Beijing bore witness to the determination of women worldwide to seek gender equality at the Fourth World Conference on Women. In the three decades since then, we have seen progress in gender equality and women’s empowerment. However, in this exclusive interview, UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J.
