Moscow streets adorned with welcoming decorations for Xi
Several main roads in Moscow have been adorned with the national flags of China and Russia and other decorations to welcome Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is set to arrive in the Russian capital on Wednesday.
At the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, Xi will pay a four-day state visit to Russia, during which he will attend the celebrations marking the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet Union’s Great Patriotic War (1941-1945).
Large signs displaying welcoming messages for the Chinese president were set up by the roadside and by buildings lining the main highway leading from the airport to the downtown areas of Moscow.
During his stay, Xi will have strategic communication with Putin on China-Russia relations and on a series of major international and regional issues, according to China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
