China’s tech, financial support crucial to Central Asia’s development: Kazakh expert
The tech and financial support from China plays a significant role in the sustainable development of the Central Asia region, said a Kazakh expert in the field.
Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Kazakhstan’s capital city Astana on Monday to attend the second China-Central Asia Summit.
At the invitation of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President Xi will attend the summit in Astana from Monday to Wednesday.
Highlighting the close ties between the two countries, Ramazan Zhampiissov, advisor to the General Director of the Kazakh Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives (ECOJER), said during a panel discussion with China Global Television Network (CGTN) that Chinese technology and financial support has pushed forward the local development.
“China plays one of the most important roles for the sustainable development of the whole region. It’s a leader in the global technology world, and for Kazakhstan and for the whole Central Asia region. It’s a great opportunity to get the access to the technology and improving the resilient and sustainable future, because our region is very rich by raw materials, but China can provide sustainable and new technology, green technology, digitalization to support the access to finance, with the availability of different Chinese funds and private capital with low interest,” he said.
Zhampiissov also emphasized China’s crucial assistance in training high-end talents in Central Asia, noting the implications for the region’s energy security.
“Another very important thing that we have to mention is the capacity building. Right now we already can see that hundreds of students go to China to get education. And a lot of experts, through different training courses, get improved knowledge from different Chinese organizations and private companies. We can use this experience to develop sustainably our conventional fields of economy including oil and gas, the mining sector,” he said.
